OUTSIDE THE LINES: MÉXICO

Outside the Lines: México is a bespoke coloring book of over 60 hand-drawn pages depicting the events and discoveries from a 31 week adventure in Mexico— a country that shares almost half of our southern border, but remains largely unknown to the majority of U.S. citizens.

Designed as a teaching resource, pages of this body of work allow readers to interact with a wide array of topics, such as:

  • Lessons in the Yucatec Maya and Spanish languages

  • Illustrations of practices and customs of many Mexican cultural traditions

  • Documentation of native flora and fauna

  • Geographical mapping of many of Mexico’s 32 diverse states

  • Culinary spotlights, and much more

Accompanied by the artist’s notes and images, the viewer has the opportunity to use the additional information to contextualize the pages literally, or take the reins themselves and enjoy the drawings as crafted quadrants of black-lined shapes to explore the journey through their own lens.

In this book are snippets of the adventures, findings, happenings and in-betweens of an inquisitive traveler’s seven months in Mexico.
